Chelsea predicted lineup vs Leeds – Premier League

Chelsea welcome Leeds to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League as they aim to put the disappointment of last weekend’s defeat to West Ham behind them.

The Blues were dislodged from the top of the table as they surrendered a 2-1 half-time lead at the London Stadium when Jarrod Bowen and Arthur Masuaku turned the tide for the Hammers.

Chelsea’s defensive issues then persisted in midweek as they were held by Zenit in a 3-3 draw in Russia, allowing Juventus to leapfrog them into top spot in their Champions League group.

Here’s how the Blues could line up.

Edouard Mendy (GK) – Will be keen to respond after a disappointing showing against West Ham last time out.

Andreas Christensen (CB) – One of few Chelsea players to look relatively solid since returning to the side.

Thiago Silva (CB) – The leader at the heart of the Chelsea defence and an exemplary role model.

Antonio Rudiger (CB) – A fan favourite at Stamford Bridge with his old-fashioned type of defending, although he seems certain to leave the club.

Reece James (RWB) – Enjoying an extraordinary campaign for the Blues, recently surpassing 100 appearances.

Jorginho (CM) – Didn’t travel in midweek. Thomas Tuchel will hope he is fit enough at the weekend.

Ross Barkley (CM) – Injuries to Kante and Kovacic could open the door for a second consecutive start in central midfield for the former Everton man.

Marcos Alonso (LWB) – The Spaniard must step up in the long-term absence of Ben Chilwell.

Mason Mount (RW) – Netted a terrific side-foot volley against West Ham and is beginning to look back to his best.

Romelu Lukaku (ST) – Injury has disrupted the Belgian’s season, although this weekend could prove a good opportunity to get back into the groove in the Premier League..

Timo Werner (LW) – Netted twice in the draw in Russia in midweek and his movement could unsettle the Leeds defence.
