Gianluigi Buffon Set for Shock Juventus Return Following Paris Saint-Germain Departure

Gianluigi Buffon is in advanced negotiations with Juventus over a potential return to the club this summer.

I repeat: GIANLUIGI BUFFON AKA THE GREATEST GOALKEEPER IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND is in advanced negotiations with Juventus over a potential return to the club this summer.

Gianluigi Buffon

And this report doesn’t come from Dave down the pub, or Stevie Two Shoes who works in the chippy and always smells of burger meat, it comes from an actual legitimate source – that likely doesn’t smell like £2 half-life meat – Sky Sport Italia’s resident Juventus man Fabrizio Romano.

He states that La Vecchia Signora are in negotiations with club legend (we don’t use that term lightly, he’s one of the greatest players in the club’s history) Gianluigi Buffon over a return to the club.

Buffon enjoyed a fantastic solitary season at Paris Saint-Germain, winning his first title outside of Italy at club level, and rolling back the years with a number of awe-inspiring saves – including this stupidly good one below:

‘Geste Technique’ is right! whatever it means…

Anyways, Buffon despite enjoying a great season in Paris decided not to renew his contract with the club, and after flirtations with Parma and Leeds United (yeah Leeds, England), the goalkeeper now looks set to re-join Juve.

The Azzurri legend played roughly a million games (656) and won a million trophies (12-time Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year, 2002/03 UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, two-time Pallone Azzurro, 2016/17 Serie A Footballer of the Year, 11 Scudetti, five Coppa Italia titles) during his a million year career at Juventus (17-years).

Due to his return, it looks as though Mattia Perin will leave the club following a pretty tepid season at the Allianz Stadium. The former Genoa stopper played a few games and got a pretty shocking haircut, and that was it really.
