Real Madrid’s Marcelo is ‘terrified’ of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, says Egypt legend Mohamed Aboutrika.
Zinedine Zidane’s men will take on Jurgen Klopp’s side in the final of the Uefa Champions League on May 26 and both players will be going head-to-head in the encounter.
The former Roma star has enjoyed a blistering form in his debut campaign with the Reds, scoring 44 goals in all competitions and holds the record of the highest goalscorer in a single 38-game English Premier League season .
The 25-year-old first met with the defender during the 2012 London Olympics where the forward inspired Egypt to a 3-2 comeback win over Brazil.
They also confronted each other in 2015-16 Champions League round of 16 when Roma were eliminated by Real.
And the former Egypt international – backing the Anfield outfit to win the diadem – is confident that the Reds goal poacher will outshine the 30-year-old in Kiev.
“Liverpool have a big chance to win the Champions League against Real Madrid,” Aboutrika was quoted as saying by Daily Star.
“I witnessed on that pitch what Salah can do to Marcelo during the Olympic Games.
“I was playing with Egypt against Brazil. Marcelo is terrified of Salah.
“I noticed the same thing in the Champions League when Roma played against Real.”
