Hirving Lozano was at it again for PSV, scoring another goal to help his extend their lead at the top of the Eredivisie table to 10 points ahead of nearest challenger Ajax’s match on Sunday.
PSV took a 3-0 win over VVV on Saturday, but the lopsided scoreline doesn’t tell the full story of the match.
It took the league leader over an hour to break the visiting side down and PSV was clinging to a 1-0 lead with just 10 minutes of regular time remaining.
Lozano’s goal, his club’s second of the night, put the match to bed, with Marco van Ginkel scoring his second of the night from the penalty spot three minutes later to put some gloss on the scoreline.
For ” El Chucky”, the goal was his 14th of the league season, moving him back to the top of the Eredivisie scoring race.
Steven Bergwijn set the table for Lozano, breaking down the left and cutting inside before releasing what looked to be as much shot as cross into the VVV area.
Lozano out-paced his defender and was on hand to slot home with a first-time finish, putting his side 2-0 up and effectively putting the match to bed.
