19′ CHANCE! Mbappe makes a delightful diagonal run in from the right-hand side, and Alves’ ball finds him, but the wonderkid’s volley is over the bar!

17′ CHANCE! Dembele receives another cut-back – this time form open play – and swings at it first-time, but can only skew it wide. PSG look far from comfortable here.

16′ CHANCE! A dangerous-looking PSG attack breaks down and they break quickly down the left. The resulting cross-shot is fumbled by Areola, but Dembele can’t pick up the pieces.

N. Bitton

M. Lustig

Celtic FC

13′ We’re getting a bit of everything here in these opening stages! Lustig seems to hurt himself when clearing the ball, and has to be replaced by Bitton in the back line.

A. Rabiot

Assist

Paris Saint-Germain FC

9′ Rabiot’s through-ball was excellent, and the Brazilian’s first touch was what the pass deserved, before managing to find the equaliser with his left foot!

Neymar

Goal

Paris Saint-Germain FC

9′ GOAL! Well that didn’t last too long! Neymar pulls PSG level before the 10-minute mark! Rabiot plays him in on the left with a wonderful ball, and, despite being under pressure, he manages to steer a left-footed shot under Gordon and into the far corner to make it 1-1! Game on!

8′ Alves takes a dinked ball from his Brazilian team-mate Neymar, but he’s clearly offside.

7′ Mbappe helps his side out as he drives the ball down the right and gets his team up the pitch, winning a throw in the process.

5′ PSG have pushed on since conceding, but they’re clearly rattled and they’ve given themselves everything to do now. Celtic will be more than happy to sit in, soak up the pressure and hit on the counter-attack away from home.

M. Dembélé

Goal

Celtic FC

1′ GOAL! Well that’s not a good start for the home side!! PSG concede a cheap corner in the opening 30 seconds as pressure from Celtic forces a very loose pass that goes straight out. The corner is fizzed low towards the edge of the box, and Dembélé blasts a curling shot that Areola should do better with, but it ends up in the back of the net! 1-0 Celtic!!

O. Ntcham

Assist

Celtic FC

1′ Ntcham took the corner quickly, and the Parisien side were still waking up when they found themselves a goal down!

1′ And we’re off in Paris! The hosts kick us off!

Unai Emery has also made three changes from the 4-1 win over Nantes, swapping Yuri Berchiche, Javier Pastore, and Angel di Maria for Layvin Kurzawa, Julian Draxler, and Kylian Mbappe, respectively.

Rodgers has made three changes from the side that won 1-0 against Ross County, replacing Nir Bitton, Adam Armstrong, and Scott Sinclair with Jozo Simunovic, Olivier Ntcham, and Tom Rogic – switching to three at the back.

Having often flattered to deceive in Europe, PSG will be looking to go all the way this year, and have started brightly, scoring more goals than anybody else in the Champions League (17) and are the only side remaining who are yet to concede in the competition.

Brendan Rodgers, too, will be looking to amend his Champions League record – he has won only two of his 16 group games as manager in the competition.

Celtic have struggled in Europe in recent seasons, with just one victory in their last 13 fixtures in the Champions League (D3 L9), and just one clean sheet in their last 23 in the competition.

PSG won the reverse game very convincingly, beating Celtic 5-0 on their own turf – the Scottish side’s heaviest home defeat in European competition. In fact, the French side have taken on Celtic three times before in Europe; winning all three games and scoring nine times without reply across those meetings.

Celtic are also having a typically strong season, remaining unbeaten in domestic competition this season. However, they have struggled in the Champions League, and their 2-1 defeat against Bayern Munich in the last round of fixtures has ended their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages. However, they must still battle with Anderlecht for third spot and Europa League qualification.

PSG come into this game in scintillating form, and have yet to lose a game this season in all competitions. In fact, they have only drawn two of their 17 games so far, scoring 60 goals in the process and conceding just nine.
