Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was disappointed to concede late in a 1-1 draw against Besiktas on Thursday.
The Premier League outfit have just two points through two UEFA Europa League Group C matches after Demba Ba’s late penalty cancelled out Harry Kane’s first-half opener at White Hart Lane.
Pochettino praised goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for making three “big, big saves”, but was ultimately left to rue Ba’s goal.
“At the beginning it was an open match, we scored in the first half and tried to manage the game,” Pochettino told the club’s website.
“We had opportunities to score the second goal but we need to recognise they had chances as well.
“Hugo made two or three big saves and their goalkeeper saved two. We were disappointed to concede the penalty because we all believed it was going to be three points for us.
“We need to look forward now and try to get three points against Asteras.”
Tottenham have Premier League matches against Southampton and Manchester City before hosting group leaders Asteras Tripolis on October 23.
